The Art of Nail Domination
Posted 2 Jul '23
You’ve prepped fearlessly, nailed the base coat, applied your colour and sealed the deal with a Pure Foxx top coat. So, what’s next? Let’s
chat about the things you can do to make sure you rock your killer nails for days.
-
Be mindful of your newly polished nails for the first few hours after application. Avoid activities that may cause chipping, such as washing
dishes without gloves or opening cans.
-
The fastest way to ruin your newly polished nails is to submerge them in hot water and harsh cleaning chemicals. So, if you needed an excuse
not to do the dishes, there you go!
- Wear gloves for household chores. This will keep your newly polished nails protected.
- Repeat your top coat application after a couple days. This should help your polish last well.
- If your nail polish has started chipping, file your tips down and seal them with another layer of top coat.
-
Maintain your polish by applying cuticle oil daily to keep your nails and cuticles moisturised. This helps prevent chipping and adds a
healthy shine.
-
Avoid solvent products. Solvents are liquids that have a dissolving property. Naturally, this can dissolve your newly polished nails if
exposed to it. Solvents can be found in some beauty products, tanning products, and insect repellent.
-
PRO TIP! Don’t use your nails in place of tools! We’re all guilty of trying to prise a lid open with our polished nails or
using them to scratch something. Whilst this may get the job done, there are plenty of objects or tools to use in place of your polished
nails that won’t cause any damage such as chipping or breaking.
-
Try not to tap directly with your nails! Living in a digital age, we are constantly tied to our laptops and phones. Tapping away all day on
keyboards can be very repetitive. Make sure to try to tap with your fingertip rather than with your nail as this can chip your polish and
nails.
-
Don’t overuse the hand sanitiser. With alcohol as a main ingredient, hand sanitiser is notorious for drying out skin and cuticles. Over
washing your hands with antibacterial soap can also lead to parched skin and make your top coat appear dull.
So, there you have it! With a little extra attention and care, your freshly polished nails will continue to dominate and make a statement
wherever you go.
